Força Hosts Fall Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Rank Review with Team LDMA
31 oct 2025
Growth, precision, and teamwork were on full display at our Fall 2025 Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Rank Review

Led by Professors Brian Wilson, Danny Dring and Força’s black belt team, this semiannual event brought together more than twenty students for a night of technical learning, camaraderie, and well-earned promotions.
A Night of Learning and Leadership
On October 30, 2025, Força Martial Arts & Fitness hosted its Fall Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Rank Review, welcoming over twenty students from our adult BJJ program alongside our black belts, assistant instructors, and special guest, Professor Danny Dring, head coach of Team LDMA.
The 2.5-hour session focused on reviewing six months of technical curriculum. Students revisited core material covering entries and attacks from knee-on-belly, escapes from knee-on-belly, attacks and escapes from kesa-gatame and side headlock, attacking from half guard, and escaping back control.
Throughout the evening, students demonstrated techniques, received feedback from black belts, and participated in open discussions designed to refine both understanding and application. Training included standing work, ground transitions, self-defense applications, submissions, passes, escapes, and reversals, giving every student a comprehensive review of their progress and proficiency.

Technical Growth and Team Spirit
The atmosphere was collaborative and inspiring. Students eagerly volunteered to demonstrate techniques and share insights, reflecting the technical growth and community spirit that define Força’s BJJ culture.
Black Belt Brian Wilson led the event with assistance from Head Instructor Professor Danny Dring, along with Força Black Belts Randy Melton, Cora Wilson, Justin Myrick, and Josh McMillian. Their collective instruction and mentorship helped ensure the review maintained its focus on precision, efficiency, and continual improvement.

Promotions and Recognition
The night concluded with well-earned promotions and recognition of hard work and dedication.
Blue Belt Promotions: Steve Collins and Tal Swicegood

Purple Belt Promotion: Forca Instructor, Howard Steer

Brown Belt Promotions: Kolby Talley and Brian Ellis

Each new rank represents countless hours of training, perseverance, and personal growth.
A Word from Professor Brian Wilson
“It’s always an incredible experience to see our students’ growth and technical understanding come together on nights like this. What stands out to me most is the openness and willingness to share knowledge, that’s one of many things that makes our team so special. Everyone on the mat contributes to the learning environment, and that’s something we’re truly proud of.” — Professor Brian Wilson, Second-Degree Black Belt & Força Co-Owner/Founder

Continuing the Tradition
Força holds its Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Rank Review twice a year, celebrating not only promotions but also the process of growth and refinement that every student undergoes along the way.
