Força recently contributed 14 competitors for an overall team points victory at the American Grappling Federation’s Arkansas open on July 22, 2017. Força competitors took home 17 total medals, 6 being gold.
Team LDMA (Living Defense Martial Arts) won the honor of the overall team points at the state Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu open. A team points winner is based off the number of times a member from the team reaches the podium.
Local academy owners and competitors Brian and Cora Wilson at Força Martial Arts each teach weekly Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes at their facility for youth, teens, adult and women.
Cora Wilson, who recently was a guest instructor at a Women’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu event at Inferno Martial Arts in Bentonville, AR. taught self-defense techniques to a group of 37 women from throughout the state who train in the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Mrs. Wilson will be offering a free women’s self defense seminar at her martial arts academy, Força Martial Arts & Fitness on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 12:00pm. All River Valley women are invited to attend. Força Martial Arts & Fitness is located just off West Parkway near Downtown Russellville and Stoby’s at 900 West E. Street.
